Now that we’ve said goodbye to 2015, it’s time to look to the new year and the makeup trends that will be sweeping 2016. Although we don’t have a crystal ball, we did see a few looks pop up several times at spring 2016 fashion shows, so odds are good they’ll hit big this year.

Beautifully bold

Just like our new MŌDA brushes, bold lips are going to be big in 2016. Dark colors are good, but bold red lips are especially popular for the new year. Use our MŌDA Luscious Lips EZglam Duo to perfectly apply a bold, red lip like @gianalaurenmua and turn some heads.

Blue is the new black

Blue eyeshadow and liner was all over the runway during the spring New York Fashion Week, from cyan to cobalt to navy. There’s a lot of versatility with this trend, from shade to application. Apply a royal blue all over your lid like @jro4makeup, who used the MŌDA Total Face Flip Kit for this gorgeous look. Or go for just a splash of blue by lining your eyes in cyan.

Sparkle and shine

Runway models showed off some serious glitter on their eyes for spring fashion shows, and you can follow suit with the glitter of your choice. If a lot of sparkle isn’t your style, you can do a subtler shimmer like @jaxvicious, who used our S.I.L.K Pro line to apply a killer highlight to her tear duct.

Fun and flirty lashes

Exaggerated lashes are going to be all the rage in 2016, from randomly placed long false lashes to drawn on doll lashes. Think Twiggy—the bigger and bolder, the better, and clumps are OK! These false lashes on @toshiamua are the right idea, but you can get even bolder by applying individual false lashes or by using our [R]evolution BX-105 Detail Liner to precisely draw doll-like lashes along your top and bottom lash line.
